About these pieces
A house sign says something about the home before anyone knocks. A name set in wood does more work than a doormat ever will.
Who it’s for: anyone buying a housewarming gift, whether that’s a first home, a new build, or a move you’re still helping someone settle into. This collection also covers kitchen gifts that get used the same week they’re unwrapped.
How to choose: for the wall, our Custom Mountain Name Sign carries a family name inside a mountain silhouette, laser-cut in layered Baltic birch, walnut-stained or natural. For the kitchen, a Personalized Bamboo Cutting Board or a Personalized Wood Rolling Pin puts a family name in front of the person cooking every day, not just visitors at the door.
How it’s made: the mountain sign is cut in layers and stacked so the ridge line stands off the backer. The cutting board is engraved into bamboo, and the rolling pin is engraved into a single turned piece of solid wood. All three are cut and finished by hand, never printed or stamped.
A free digital proof arrives within 24 hours of your order, and everything ships in 3–5 business days after you approve the layout.
Buying for someone else’s new home? The housewarming sign guide covers the name-versus-address decision and why the best gifts arrive after moving day.
Personalized House Signs questions
Can a house sign hang outside by the front door?
It depends on the piece: some are made for indoor walls and some take an outdoor finish. Message us with the spot before you order, and we'll tell you whether that sign is made for it.
How big are the pieces?
The Custom Mountain Name Sign is a round piece of layered Baltic birch, about three-quarters of an inch deep across the layers. Message us for the exact diameter if you are fitting it to a particular wall. For the kitchen, the Personalized Bamboo Cutting Board is about 13 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall, and the Personalized Wood Rolling Pin is about 19.5 inches long.
Do I see the name before you cut it?
Yes. We send a free digital proof within 24 hours of your order, and we start cutting once you approve it. If you want to change something after ordering, reach out before cutting starts and we update it at no extra cost.
Will it arrive in time for a housewarming?
All three pieces ship in 3 to 5 business days after you approve your proof, and USPS delivery typically takes another 3 to 5 business days within the continental US. Order three weeks before the date for a comfortable window. If the date is closer than two weeks, message us first and we will confirm the timeline before you order.
