What you get

Each puzzle is a solid wood board, roughly an inch thick, with one child's name spelled across the top row in laser-cut letters and five hand-painted animal pieces lined up beneath it. Every letter and every animal lifts out of its own recess, and each recess has a finger-hold cut into the top edge so small hands don't have to pry a piece loose.

We paint in thin coats so the wood grain still reads through the color, sand every edge by hand, and test-fit each piece back into its recess before it ships. A piece that binds gets trued up on the bench instead of going out that way. That check happens on every board, whether you order one or forty.

Board width scales with the name rather than one fixed size for every child. Short names (up to 6 letters) run about 12 inches wide, medium names (7 to 9 letters) about 15 inches, and long names (10 to 12 letters) about 18 inches.

This is a small-parts toy: the letters and animals lift completely free of the board. Contains small, removable wood pieces. Not intended for children under 3 without adult supervision, as the pieces present a choking hazard.

Is there a minimum order?

For a shop buying to resell, we quote wholesale terms per order, so the quote states any minimum along with the price. A daycare or school buying for its own rooms has no minimum: one puzzle is a real order, and so is a case of forty at shop prices. The quote form asks you to pick a range so we know how to schedule the bench: just one, two to ten, eleven to twenty-five, twenty-six to fifty, or fifty and up. Choose the one nearest your count and put the exact number in the note.

Every board is cut and hand-painted individually at any count, so a reorder is the same product as your first order. A list of forty different names is no harder for us than forty of the same name.

How a quote works, and what is in it

Start with the quote form. It asks for your name, email, and a short note about the project; estimated quantity, the date you need them by, company, budget range, and decision timeline are optional, and answering them lets us reply in one pass instead of three. Send one child's name per line if you already have the list.

From there it is four steps: we send a flat quote based on your quantity and personalization, you approve a digital proof before anything is cut, we produce the batch, and it ships. The quote carries the price and the lead time together, so you are never agreeing to a date you haven't seen.

Wholesale terms are quoted per order. We are a two-person studio, so the quote sets your total and ship date from your count. At single-order retail, the puzzle runs $44 for a short name (up to 6 letters), $49 for medium (7 to 9), and $54 for long (10 to 12). The wholesale quote starts from those retail prices. How long does a wholesale batch take?

A wholesale first order takes 1 to 2 weeks, because a batch is real production time. A single retail puzzle is quicker: a free proof arrives within 24 hours of a confirmed order, cutting starts once you approve it, and it ships in 3 to 5 business days after that. Your quote states the ship date for a batch your size, before you commit to it.

A batch ships the way a single order does: USPS with tracking included, each board wrapped in kraft paper and bubble wrap and packed in a snug cardboard box. Once it ships, delivery typically takes 3 to 5 business days within the continental United States. The shipping policy has the cost and delivery details.

What is personalized on each board

The name, and the five animals. The default lineup is a giraffe, an elephant, an octopus, a fox, and a whale, and we cut that set unless you ask for something else. Tell us what a child is into, or what your shelf sells, and we cut those shapes instead. Hyphens and apostrophes are fine and the board widens to fit them.

For names past 12 letters or with accented characters, say so in your first message and we will confirm the layout fits cleanly before anything is cut. On a batch, that check happens once for the whole list rather than name by name.

Can you engrave our logo?

Yes. We can engrave names, dates, addresses, company logos, and custom text. Tell us what you need in the quote form and we will confirm it fits the board before anything is cut.
