A prize drop board is a plinko-style game: drop a disc at the top, watch it bounce through the pegs, land in a slot at the bottom. The slot determines what the player wins — or doesn’t. The mechanic is simple. The engagement is immediate. People line up to play it.
What I make is a clean, tabletop-scale version of that game in Baltic birch, engraved with whatever you put on it — your company name, an event name, custom slot labels. It ships ready to play.
I confirm your layout within 24 hours of your order and start production the same day. Ships in 5–7 business days.
What I need from you: the header text you want at the top, the labels for each slot at the bottom, and whether you want to add a logo.
The board
The base is ¾-inch Baltic birch — cabinet-grade, void-free plies, smooth face on both sides. I use birch because it machines cleanly and the laser engraving reads well against the pale surface. The pegs are solid hardwood dowels, press-fit into drilled holes in a pattern tested for good disc distribution — the ball doesn’t just fall straight down every time.
The slot dividers at the bottom are also laser-cut birch, assembled and glued. They’re fixed, not adjustable. The number of slots is set at seven, with the slot labels you specify engraved into each divider face.
The whole board gets a coat of satin lacquer after assembly — durable enough to wipe down between events, clear enough that the wood color comes through. It’s not the same as the natural oil I use on my decorative signs; this finish needs to hold up to repeated handling.
What gets engraved
Header text: Your name, event name, company name, or any short phrase — up to 30 characters. This goes at the top of the board, above the peg field, in a clean engraved block. I size the text to fill the header area without crowding.
Slot labels: Seven slots, seven labels. These go at the bottom of each slot divider. Common choices: prize tiers (Grand Prize, Second Prize, Try Again), point values (100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 25, 50), or custom words (your product names, custom prompts). You tell me the seven labels in order from left to right.
Logo option: If you add the logo tier, I engrave your logo file at the top of the board in place of plain text. Send me the logo as an SVG or high-resolution PNG after ordering — I’ll confirm it works at the engraving size before I cut. Vector files engrave cleaner than rasters; if you only have a raster, I’ll let you know if it needs cleanup.
Dimensions and setup
The board is approximately 16 inches wide and 24 inches tall. It stands on its own with a built-in kickstand on the back — no additional stand needed for tabletop use. If you need it mounted to a booth wall or a freestanding display frame, that’s a different setup; message me.
The disc that players drop is included — I send two with each board. They’re ¾-inch hardwood discs, smooth, sized to travel cleanly through the peg field without getting stuck.
Production and shipping
Because personalized graphics need a layout proof, my timeline on this board is a bit longer than my sign work. Here’s the sequence:
Within 24 hours of payment: I send you a layout proof showing the header text, peg layout, and slot labels as they’ll appear on the board. You approve it or request changes. I don’t cut until the layout is approved.
Days 1–3: Laser cutting and engraving. The base plate, peg holes, slot dividers, and header engraving all come from the same session.
Days 3–4: Assembly. Pegs set, dividers glued and clamped, kickstand attached.
Days 4–5: Finish coat applied, cure time.
Days 5–7: Package and ship. This is a larger item — it ships in a double-walled box with corner protection. USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground depending on size.
Events this works well for
Trade show booths — gives people a reason to stop and a conversation starter. School carnivals and fundraisers — fast to run, no setup beyond setting it on a table. Corporate events and team outings — the slot labels can be anything (prizes, dares, tasks). Wedding receptions — guests play for seating assignments, table prizes, or just fun. Birthday parties.
The game takes about 10 seconds per player. No explanation needed — people understand it on sight.
Questions
Message me before ordering if you want more than seven slots, a different board size, or a full custom graphic rather than text and logo. Those are possible but need a custom quote. For standard text personalization, order directly and I’ll reach out with the layout proof.
Rush orders: message me first. I can sometimes compress the timeline for an additional fee depending on queue.
